Dr Blandina Theophil Mmbaga

Dr Blandina Theophil Mmbaga is a paediatrician, Director of the Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute (KCRI), Director Research at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC), and Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College.  She is experienced in infectious disease research including Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS clinical trials and a PI for the ongoing zoonoses studies under ZELS network; SEEDs, HAZEL, Brucella, SEBI, OOHTZ and antimicrobial resistance related researches. She is a member of the National one health Research technical working group. She is leading the KCRI-Biotechnology laboratory supporting a one-health approach for human and animal diagnostic testing for zoonotic diseases including Brucellosis. Within this project she will support in the validation of the testing method to be developed. She had well supervising the ongoing studies and her experience will be potential in the implementation of the test both in human and animal targeted for the diagnostic test.
